Nonfiction Reading Response

  Imaging 2014 by Isaac Asimov

An article that I really enjoyed reading in the Upfront magazine is called, Imagining 2014 written by Isaac Asimov. This article is about how a scientist and a sci-fi write imagined 2014. He predicted 2014 in such a fantasy, with flying cars, underwater cities and moon colonies. Even though he's prediction and imagination was wrong, he did predict some things that now exist. Asimov saw a article in 1964 in The New York Times and predicted that in 2014. There will be video calls such as Skype and FaceTime etc. He also predicted that there would be 3-D movies, and "miniaturized" computer or as we call them today laptops, e-readers and GPS.

This article was very cool and interesting to read. It makes me wonder what will be Invented in the future. What will exist that we see in movies now a days ? Things that we imagine, things that might come true one day. If  a man predicted something in 1964 and came true in 2014. Then in 50 years from now something big and unordinary might be invented and created for everyone. Its a really cool thing to think about, think about the future and what cool and exciting things that will be for the next generation and so on. So many people don't really think about what will happen from here to 10 years etc. People in this generation should start predicting and should start inventing. This article was very interesting to read, and it made me think a lot about unordinary things that might happen.
